NOTICE OF GENERAL MEMBERS MEETING Notice is hereby given of the monthly CTGA General Meeting. This is the first in a series of planned General CTGA Business Meetings. When; Wednesday 11th June 2014 from 18h30 Where; Hotel Verde. Cape Town International Airport. 15 Michigan Str. Airport Industria. Programme 18:00 – Site visit of the facilities starts. 18:15 – Registration opens. Raffle tickets: R10.00 each CTGA Merchandise and membership badges will be on sale. 18:45 – Meeting starts 1. Welcome – CTGA Chairman 2. Venue speaker for Hotel Verde. 3. Results of last CTGA survey. 4. Panel Presentation and discussion. Always wonder what acronyms mean? This presentation will give a better understanding of who is responsible for what in Tourism, outline the structure of Tourism Regulation, and the Regulating Bodies which affect Tourism from a Guiding perspective. Discussions will include; • Information on what will affect your qualifications and your working environment with the work being done at the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations [QCTO]. • Information on what affects you with the Self Regulation of the Adventure Tourism Industry currently in consultation. • What opportunities there are available to guides through the Commercialisation of Tourist Guiding. • The new Tourism Act. [We have attached the new Tourism Act as signed off last month] 5. CTGA monthly feedback 5.1 Q&A The meeting will end at approximately 20h00 and will be followed by networking with snacks kindly provided by Hotel Verde and a cash bar. The CTGA supports ‘Drinking Responsibly’ . PLEASE NOTE: Regret no friends, family, children, pets, etc. can be accommodated at the Monthly members meeting.
