NOTICE: POSSIBILITY OF WATER SUPPLY SHOTRAGE: BRITS, AND SURROUNDING AREAS ( BRITS AND ENVIRONS: MOTHUTLUNG, MMAKAU, MADIDI, OSKRAAL, LETLHABILE, SONOP, MABOLOKA Madibeng Local Municipality hereby gives notice to its residents of possible intermittent water supply in the above mentioned areas. The Municipality experienced a mechanical breakdown at raw water abstraction pump station. The challenge has resulted into reduced water quantity to be purified and distributed. High-lying areas will receive water at low pressure or no water. The matter is being given urgent attention and will restore the pump today. Furthermore Madibeng areas supplied from Rand Water are also experiencing water shortage, this is as a result of water supply shortage/ low reservoir capacities from Rand Water. The matter is receiving urgent attention, at this stage it is still unclear when water will be fully restored, areas that might be affected include Itsoseng, Klipgat, Erasmus, Kgabalatsane, Hebron, Segwaelane, Modderspruit, Majakaneng, Bapong, Wonderkop, Western Plants, Barnardsvlei. Some consumers will experience lower water pressure or have no water at all especially in far lying areas. The municipality has arranged water tankers to supply water to critical affected areas. The Municipality appeals to all consumers to take heed of the prevailing situation, the hot temperatures and utilize water very sparingly and store water. During this period, water gardens, washing cars and pathways using hose pipes is strictly prohibited. The Municipality will communicate on the development regarding the above matter.
