NOTICE: POSSIBILITY OF WATER SUPPLY SHOTRAGE: BRITS, AND SURROUNDING AREAS,SONOP,ELANDSRANDS,DAMONSVILLE,MOTHUTLUNG,MMAKAU,OSKRAAL,MABOLOKA,MAJAKANENG,LETLHABILE AND OUKASIE Notice is hereby given that possibility of water supply interruption/shortage will be experienced in the above mentioned areas The Madibeng Local Municipality hereby gives notice to its residents of the possible water supply Interruptions or intermittent supply in the above mentioned areas. This is as a result of high algal concentrations from the raw water sourced at Hartbeespoort Dam which adversely impacted on the water quality and quantity at the Brits Water Plant. Furthermore we also experiencing a mechanical breakdown the maintenance team is currently addressing the matter. The prolonged hot, dry weather, the rains spurred the growth of algae in the Hartbeespoort dam. This in turn affected the quality of the water produced at the Brits Water Purification Plant. Due to these challenges the turbidity and colour concentration levels of the unpurified raw water increased tremendously, and adversely impacting on the water quality and quantity at the Brits Water Plant. Some consumers will experience lower water pressure or have no water at all. The Municipality appeals to all consumers to take heed of the prevailing situation and utilize water very sparingly and store water. During this period, water gardens, washing cars and pathways using hose pipes is strictly prohibited.
