NOTICES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Week of September 15, 2013 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * NEWS FROM THE PEWS * * September 8, 2013 Pastor Lois reported that her cataract surgery is progressing nicely; George Reese said that our church is blessed to have members who share family/personal church scrapbooks with him as the Church Historian, and gave a BIG ‘thank you’ to Francis Finlaw for his recent contributions; Hazel Davis gave a Thank You to the flute section from the American Legion Band for providing our special music today; Naomi Sebulsky had recently been to the Ocean City Tabernacle to hear Tony Campolo speak to a packed house; Sheila Fretz had a surprise visit from Carolina cousins and she is determined to maintain contact with them; reminded us that 9/11 is fast approaching – Remember; Ambrose Salinas commented on the flowers in memory of Bill Miltimore; Rick Johnson After three plantings in our flower bed, Rick turned the outcome over the God – and we have flowers! Daughter had been hospitalized for stress symptoms and is now home; Father is better; Prayer Requests Mary Hurst asked for prayers for her brother-in-law as he will travel from Georgia to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL., for further medical testing. We enjoyed the special music last Sunday provided by the Flute Section of The American Legion Band. Thank you to Marilin Dilks, Adrienne McKishen, Dorothy Robinson, Peg Wills and Melody Rosenberger. We Extend Our Sympathy Francis Finlaw lost his son-in-law Robert Pangburn recently. The service was held at Canton Baptist Church and a delicious meal followed. Robert was married to Judy and cards may be sent to her at P.O. Box 164, Quinton, NJ 08072 and to Francis at 664 Harmersville-Canton Road, Salem, NJ 08079. We are sorry for their loss. What Is Going On In Bible Study? We resumed our meeting on Tuesday September 10 at 9:30 a.m. with ten present. We reviewed the first three chapters of Samuel as well as where the Israelite nation stood at that time and the culture the tribes. On Sept. 17th, we will begin the reading at Chapter 4 of 1 Samuel. Join us at 9:30 a.m. WORLD MISSION OFFERING There are ABCWORLD MISSION OFFERING envelopes in our pews today and an insert in the bulletin.
