NOV. 27, 2014 - [ THURS.] -- LIVING WATER PIT SENYOR ! I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Halle- luyah ! Salvation and glory and power to our GOD. --- Revelation 19 : 1 January, in Cebu, Philippines is an exuberant month. It is the month of the Sinulog Festival -- time to honor the CHILD JESUS or STO NINO. People come from all over the country and abroad to witness this colorful event. Many Cebuanos schedule reunions dur- ing this time. People attend the nine - day novena Masses and the procession, and enjoy the Mardi - Gras -- dancing in the streets to the rhythm of the drumbeats. People shout Pit Senyor ! Where- ver you go, people greet you w/ the salutation ; and you return the same greeting. It is like saying, MERRY CHRISTMAS at CHRISTmastime. I discovered it had a deep meaning. An article pointed out that Pit Senyor was not a greeting at all ; rather, it was a plea to the LORD, to the STO. NINO, as we celebrate HIS feast. The writer said that when we say PIT SENYOR to each other, we are saying, I will make a plea to the LORD for your wellbeing. Now I know that when I say Pit Senyor to anybody, I am lift - ing up an intercessory prayer for the person. -- GINGGING
