NOW THIS IS PERSONAL …………………………………….. I grew up in Nakuru town and one of my very close friends was Harrison Mwangi. Harry as we called him was a son of Paul Mwaniki, a very prominent businessman in Nakuru town. We did KCPE at Nakuru west together in 2000 and while I joined Makhokho High, Harry joined Bokoli high school. We lost touch and we could only meet occasionally during school holidays. When I joined Egerton University and later got employed in Nairobi, I lost touch with Harry completely. Unknown to me, Harry after doing his KCSE moved to Eldoret and started a thriving retail business. I never knew about him all while, until after Kenya PEV when I heard the horror story. Harry was killed in his shop but before that, the marauding militia killed his Pregnant wife right at his shop before they pulled him out and killed him. They looted his shop. Mzee Paul Mwaniki was devastated. I was shocked. But I kept on having hopes that somehow, justice will one day be delivered. He is among the growing statistics of Kenyans killed through brutal political violence. And going by the celebrations that met one UHURU KENYATTA this morning, it appears that NO JUSTICE will ever be met. My brother and friend Harry, RIP.
