Every gun has a set of what’s called Administrative Functions. These consist of loading procedures, activating or firing procedures, sustained fire procedures and unloading procedures…what steps are in each will vary based on the type of gun and, to a large degree even the make/model. I go into all sorts of detail about each one of these in the book and the various techniques recommended depending on the weapon system. For now, understand that I added another…the deployment of the gun…getting the gun into the fight. All determined by where it’s kept, (holster, safe, closet), it’s status, (loaded/unloaded) it’s access, (concealed/open carry): All of which is now part of your gun handling requirements...I took a unique approach to this phase which many of you may find interesting…one of which was to divide the brain into three parts and teach each part it’s ‘specialty’…tomorrow, the basics to Tactical Skills…no they have nothing to do with search, room entries or repelling…
