NPF Cdl reacts to TSA statement HNS/Imphal, Dec 7: While inviting the Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) to a fair discussion on matter regarding the welfare of Chandel district, the Naga People’s Party (NPF), Chandel Division has appealed to the leadership of TSA not to exercise any divisive policy at the behest of some vested interests. According to a press clarification issued by the NPF Chandel Division, the land acquisition under Village No. 52-Pallel including the assumed FCI site at Molnoi has to be initiated by Thoubal Revenue District. While the FCI Site Selection Committee is upholding the norms and guidelines for construction of FCI godown for each revenue district in Manipur, the official process for construction works in other districts has been in good progress through various agencies. However, a particular iste under Wangkhem Assembly Constituency is already proposed for Thoubal Revenue District, and so Thoubal Revenue District cannot have two FCI godowns. It further said that the site selection for construction of 2500 MT storage for Chandel district was started in 2010. Moreover, there are adequate survey reports and official communications that the assumed FCI site at Molnoi falls under Village No. 52-Pallel under Thoubal Revenue District. This fact itself is the hindrance which the State Government has not been able to rectify necessary Constitutional Acts for transfer of all hill area land records to their parent districts and subsequent publication in Manipur Gazette. The FCI Site Selection Committee along with CAF&PD representatives has started exploring feasible sites and conclusively approved the site at Liwa Khullen which is the only the suitable site among various proposed sites for land acquisition under Chandel Revenue District. The question of FCI 5000 MT storage site at Molnoi has nothing to do with the FCI 2500 MT storage at Liwa Khullen, the NPF asserted.
