NPR (or at least KUT here in Austin) is infinitely better than any other radio station, at least the free ones. I genuinely feel for the people who miss out on such fascinating, life enriching programmming simply because theyve been misled to view NPR as some sort of left wing news channel. As someone who is essentially non-political it is easy to see the fallacy in such thinking. I turn off the radio when the news comes on, I listen for the interviews, the wonderful readings of short stories, the scientific discussions, and all the other exceedingly well produced shows that remind me that intelligence in media isnt yet dead.
