NPR reports that some schools, specially schools located in poor and black neighbourhoods had very chaotic first day. Philadelphia school district closed 21 schools just this year only because of unavailability of funds to run schools. Today, when kids went to school they faced new situation: some of part time and full timers no more, some science teacher were not there, some language teachers were not there. This is not happening in one of the protest countries in the world and my lovely country- Sri Lanka. It is happening in the world richest and militarily mighty power-America. Philadelphia is not alone in this sorry state in the richest country in the world. Interestingly, I hear some Americans complain about seeing Chinese and Indians in science and technology fields. Such complians may rise if this country keeps spending money on killing machines than school and other social developments. What is deeply weird is that we are living in the nation that has more money for wars, but less or no fund for poor, God bless America!
