NSCDC distributes vehicles to state commands As part of efforts to address security challenges across the country, Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ade Abolurin, has directed distribution of Hilux and other surveillance vehicles to state commands of the corps. The distribution which the corps said would be in phases is to enable the operatives carry out the its mandate without compromise especially as it concerns protection of critical infrastructure of government and national assets such as the oil and gas sector, telecommunication, power and transport. The corps had earlier in April this year distributed five Hilux vehicles to the five units of the Joint Task Force (JTF) formation in Niger-Delta to enhance its operation. Among beneficiary states are Rivers, Benue, Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe, Sokoto, Borno, Ekiti, and FCT. The Commandant General counselled the recipients to use the vehicles for the stated purpose, and encouraged them to seek the blessing of their various state governors.
