Jammu: 20-06-13: National Secular Forum protest against the administration of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) has not called the deserving candidates for interview who had applied for the Post of Asstt. Professors in different streamed and was advertised in recent past, National Secular Forum urged the Governor, N N Vohra, who is the first Chancellor of the varsity, for ordering a high-level inquiry. Addressing the protesters here today, Dr.Vikas Sharma said that central university of Jammu had invited application for the posts of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in Economics, Environment Science, Mathematics, MBA, National Security and studies, English and others. It has been witnessed by all the concerned students, scholars and public that in all the previous appointments in the Central University Jammu it’s been the fact that the deserving and meritorious candidates were ignored and deprived from the fair selection and they were the victims of the biased and unethical discrimination of their fundamental right. Sharma also said that for the post of Assistant Professors in MBA rules were customized and warped. “Around 190 candidates had applied for the post but only 25-30 ( included blue -eyed) have been invited for the interviews schedule to be held on June 16-17, “ he said, adding that many highly qualified candidates with teaching experience, having PHD,Net,Set have ignored and are not invited for interviews. The advertisement which was notified for this post was containing the requisite qualification criteria simply MBA with 60% but the short listing has been done on the basis of Specialisation in the MBA which is totally unethical and illegal with the fact that in the advertisement for this post it was not mentioned that any particular specialisation would be the base for the selection of the short list. The actual fact behind the fraud as alleged by some candidates is that one short listed candidate is the Daughter of OSD to Vice Chancellor CUJ, and all forces are working for her appointment for this post only and she is not falling in the merit if the genuine selection criteria would have been followed. The fraud and nepotism which is a violation of fundamental right of the deserving candidates shows that corruption and favouritism is the main factor behind all the functions of the Central University and this is depressing the Student and Scholar Community of Jammu. He also alleged that candidates were seeking time from VC of CUJ to project their grievances, but all in vain as for the last two-three days, VC was not meeting them due to some unknown reason. He said that CUJ has becomes rehabilitate centre for nears and dears of some officials while the deserving candidates were ignored without any reason. He threatened launch an agitation if the CUJ would not mend their mind.
