This much was revealed to newsmen by the youthful council chairman during a chat in his office at Okorette, Eastern Obolo. According to Chief (Dr.) Uduyok, “a police security detail attached to Obong Nsima Ekere, the former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, called me on the phone this afternoon (Tuesday 12th August) at about 03.38pm and threatened to kill me if I insist on standing elections into Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency seat in the National Assembly”. Continuing, the council chairman who is a leading aspirant for the Ikot Abasi Federal constituency seat said “ Sgt. Julius told me to remember how his boss (Obong Ekere) made sure my victory in 2011 was upturned even when the incumbent member (Dr Akpan Micah Umoh ) did not have money and that in 2015, my victory will not only be upturned, but that they will kill me and nothing shall happen as his principal is fully on ground in Abuja. Dr uduyok who looked emotionally frightened, said he has reported the matter to relevant security agencies and further revealed that when he subsequently contacted Obong Nsima Ekere, he rather resorted to attacking the office and person of Chief (Dr.) Godswill Obot Akpabio (CON), the executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State with unprintable words, saying, ”for instance Obong Ekere betrayed the privilege Akwa Ibom people gave him to serve as deputy Governor, when he predicted that Chief Akpabio will end in doom” The Chairman, who has been globally praised and acknowledged for his innovative development and empowerment of grassroots people, however disclosed that he remains resolute and confident as he steps out to create more value and visibility to Ikot Abasi people at the National political arena. Said he, ”my popularity and acceptability by the good people of Ikot Abasi Federal constituency is hinged on my greater than five star performance as a council chairman, inspired by Chief Akpabio’s sterling leadership qualities and commitment to valuable service delivery”. Sounding a warning note to those opposed to his ambition and threatening violence in 2015, Dr Uduyok added that “it is unthinkable for them to continue to imagine that the good people of Ikot Abasi will fold their arms and watch as the 2011 script is re-enacted, this time, our people have spoken, and they have spoken”
