NSUD Would like to thank all the concern Nagas and others who participated in todays rally at Jantar Mantar(3rd sept.2014). It was very encouraging to see the huge turn up which signifies the spirit of unity and concern for one another. NSUD, as a stake holder for peace and understanding with any community or government, demands 1. Immediate withdrawal of section 144 CrPC from ukhrul town for the sake of civil law and public order. 2.Ensure justice to the deceased by registering those concerned personnel to legal trial. 3.To restore normal life and civil order to the innocent people of Ukhrul. 4.To respect the autonomy of free Naga customary law practice, and other hill tribes as enshrined under Article 371C of the Indian constitution and the Manipur Legislative Assembly (Hill Areas Committee) Order, 1972. 5.To assuage any communal feeling between the ruling-elitist community and the Nagas and other hill tribes of the state. 6.To strengthen the peace process between the Government of India and the Naga people for early settlement. 7.To immediately release the arrested innocent civilians. 8. Expedite and honor the legitimate aspiration of Nagas for peaceful separation from Manipur state. 9.Public apology from manipur government to the people of Ukhrul in particular and Nagas in general Thousands of Nagas living in the national capital on Wednesday held a protest rally here in Jantar Mantar against the recently killings of innocent Naga civilians by Manipur Commandos and Indian Reserved Battalion during a peaceful rally in Ukhrul town on August 30. The protest rally was organised under the banner of Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD). NUSD has submitted memorandum to the President of India, Prime Minister, Union Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission and Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur, Imphal.
