#NSW #Fire #Corp Update: Watch and Act - Linksview Road Fire, Springwood (Blue Mountains) 23/10/13 13:23 Posted: 23/10/2013 A bush fire is burning in the Springwood area. More than 3,000 hectares have been burnt. Current Situation Rain fell over the fire grounds last night and dampened fire activity. However, despite the rainfall, todays forecast hot, dry and windy conditions will see a return to dangerous fire conditions. Fire is burning in areas near Grose Rd and Chapman Parade. Winmalee residents may see fire activity, including smoke, from backburning between Springwood Ridge and Blue Gum Swap Creek, north of St Columbas High School. More than 90 firefighters are working to consolidate containment lines, as conditions allow. A TOTAL FIRE BAN is in place for the Greater Sydney Region until further notice. Advice Many residents have already relocated from the area. If you or your property are not prepared, or you are not confident about your ability during a bush fire, your safest option is still to leave early today – well before the fire may impact.
