NSW Sydney: Detectives release CCTV after children indecently assaulted - Ryde Monday, 13 October 2014 12:23:37 PM ***Editors note - CCTV of a man police believe can assist with inquiries will be sent to media ** Detectives investigating the indecent assault of two children in Ryde last month have released CCTV of a man they believe can assist with inquiries. Two nine-year-old girls were approached by a man inside an electronic store at a shopping centre on Blaxland Road about 1.30pm on Sunday 28 September 2014. The man indecently assaulted both girls before leaving the store. Police were alerted and officers from Ryde Local Area Command commenced inquiries. Detectives have released CCTV of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries. The man in the footage is described as being of Indian / Sub-Continental appearance, aged in his 30s, approximately 180cm tall and with a large build. He is shown wearing a short-sleeved shirt and dark pants. Ryde Local Area Commander, Detective Superintendent John Duncan, said at the time the shopping centre was busy and is confident there will be people who can help. “The incident took place in a crowded centre and I have no doubt that the man in the footage or shoppers at the centre can assist us with more information about the incident,” D/Supt Duncan said. “This is extremely disturbing incident. These children have simply gone to the shops for a day out and should not have been subjected to that,” he said.
