NSW premier Mike Baird appears to have won voters over to his $20 billion plan to sell the state’s electricity networks and plough the proceeds back into infrastructure projects. A Fairfax/Ipsos poll of 1002 voters last week showed Mr Baird is poised to win the state election in March and 55 per cent of voters now back his key pledge to sell the state’s poles and wires and “recycle” the capital. But the debate is still finely balanced.
