NTPC’s 4th Quarter EBITDA Grows by 14.21% Core EBITDA from power generation for Q4 of financial year 2013-14 grew by 14.21%. From power generation segment, the Company registered EBITDA of Rs. 4441.80 crore for Q4 of current year as against Rs. 3889.18 crore for the corresponding previous period. The profit after tax for Q4 of financial year 2013-14 is Rs. 3,093.54 crore as against Rs. 4,381.61 crore for corresponding period of the previous year. After excluding one-off items i.e. recovery of DESU dues, etc. booked in previous year, profit after tax has increased by 35.41% over the previous corresponding quarter. The total income for Q4 of financial year 2013-14 has increased to Rs. 21,637.87 crore from Rs. 18,250.46 crore for the corresponding previous period, registering a growth of 18.56%. The audited total income for the financial year 2013-14 is Rs. 74,707.82 crore as compared to Rs. 68,855.81 crore for the previous financial year, registering a growth of 8.50%. The audited profit after tax of the Company for the financial year 2013-14 is Rs. 10,974.74 crore as against the audited profit after tax of Rs. 12,619.39 crore in the previous year. Excluding one-off items, profit after tax has increased by 16.44% over the previous financial year. From the Generation business, EBITDA has grown to Rs. 17348.24 crore from Rs. 15676.21 crore registering a growth of 10.67% year-on- year. The Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend Rs. 1.75 per equity share for the financial year 2013-14 in their meeting held on May 15, 2014 subject to approval of Shareholders. This is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs. 4.00 per equity share paid in February 2014. NTPC Limited, India’s largest power generating company has an installed capacity of 43128 MW. Keeping its growth momentum, the Company added 1835 MW to its installed capacity and 2675 MW to its commercial capacity during the financial year 2013-14.
