NTV BUYS NBS TELEVISION Ever since vision group openned up Bukedde TV, there has been tight competition in the Ugandan television market. Before in the 90s the Naguru based television( WBS) almost monopolised the market but the trend kept on changing and we saw the once dominating station losing popularity and with the emergence of Bukedde TV the competition became tighter which compelled the English station (NTV) rebrand but in vein. Now it seems the Serena hotel based station has come to learn that the only remedy for Bukedde threat is to introduce a Luganda station to lure viewers and sponsors, hence buying NBS which is set to rebrand to QTV at a hooping fee of about 2 billion. Anyway congratulations but let us hope the NBS presenters are not going to turn jobless.
