NW Update: Possible mail tampering in Payton area A neighbor in the Payton area reported suspicious activity with his mail last week. It started with his getting no mail for a few days and then he discovered that someone had put a stop to his mail online (anyone can do it) with a bogus phone number. He undid the stop mail, and subsequently received a credit card approval in the mail he did not request. He reported it to the PO Inspectors Office. This is a federal issue so if you suspect or know something is going on with your mail, contact the Postal Inspectors Office, 1-877-876-2455. REMINDER: DO NOT put checks or sensitive information in your mailbox for pick up. Take it to the PO yourself!
