NWOBHM skýrsla: Jæja, sæmilega lítið um heimtur í þetta sinnið. Smá uppsóp í frönsku efni sem heillaði lítt. Rhabstallion var uppgötvunin. Þeir eru fáir, földu fjársjóðirnir sem standa virkilega undir nafni, en þessi gerir það svo sannarlega. Hvet þá sem eru inni á þessari línu að tékka á þessu. --- FRANSKT Satan Jokers - Les Fils du Métal (1983) ---This is not good. The band name does not help but yeah, it all sounds like a bit of a joke. Incoherent, generic, trotting aimlessly along. Maybe Ive just heard enough of this french stuff already. Any way, Fail! Trust - Lélite (1979) ---Punky, hard rock metal? I like the energy and no nonsense delivery but the album is also littered with sub par middle of the road material. Hmm...interesting I guess... Trust - Répression (1980) ---Hard rocking, energetic, a bit tighter even than the debut. New Wave and punk leanings. I like it but Im not taking awfully to it at the same time. Trust - Marche Ou Crève (1981) ---Nicko McBrain on drums! No frills and energy charged rocknroll, rather than metal. Good coffee but maybe not quite my cup of tea as they say. NWOBHM VA - Metal for Muthas (1980) ---Legendary compilation but the music a hotchpotch selection of metal and not so metal tracks (which leer into hard rock/blues territory). Maiden are the high point, but of course, and Angel Witch have a nice entry as well. VA - Metal for Muthas II (1980) ---Better music. More metal and more quality somehow over all. Xero and Chevy a particular joy. Rhabstallion - Day to Day (1994) ---A compilation of stray tracks and singles. Really good and a certified buried treasure. Assured songwriting and the performances rock. Theres a magic here, an enthusiasm that marks them away from the generic types which NWOBHM has in abundance.
