NWU Maffies CSRC 2013/14 Dear Students This is a notification to the students populace that due clause 1.4 of the CSRC Constitution, the CSRC took a decision to suspend and ultimately terminate the membership of the Presidency. the Deputy President put in his resignation and did a hand over to the CSRC. The President has filed an appeal on the decision taken by the CSRC on the basis that it is not yet concluded that he will have an extra year. Registration The registration processes for the first years have went well. North West University MAfikeng Campus can officially state that it has reached over 2000 first entry of University students, the journey has not been easy but the CSRC Executive together with CSRC Members serving in sub-structures have managed to pull off a very organized and successful registration for first years. ALL FIRST YEAR PROGRAMS ARE OFFICIALLY FULL. The registration for returning, final year and post grad students have officially began today and we will once more dedicate ourselves to ensuring that students register with no hassles. Any problems that you might face please contact the CSRC at their office instead of making it a Facebook issue. We as the CSRC have been elected into office by you so we urge you to utilize these offices. Our contact details are available on the Info section of this page. Financial assistance The CSRC had managed to negotiate with the director of finance that first year students who did not have the total amount for registration needed to register with atleast 50% of the registration amount. However this system was closed on tuesday as the University felt that it had no guarantee that students would pay the money due, while students who had funding would not be given space. To all education students the results for Fundza Lushaka are out, we encourage all of you to come and check on whether theyve received the bursary or not. In terms of oustanding balances we have requested with the Director of Finance and the Bursary Office that those who have outstanding balances must come and write down their names at the CSRC Boardroom. Please bring a copy of your 2013 transcript and any other document that you believe will strengthen your case (affidavit, bursary letter etc). All outstanding balance cases will be heard at the bursary Office on the 28th of January 2014 starting from 08:00 am. We encourage all students with outstanding balances to bring all necessary documents and come to the bursary office on the 28th of January 2014. Postgraduates Postgraduate students will receive a reply from NSFAS by next week. CSRC has ensured that those who did not have correspondence regarding whether they have been accepted or not, to be sent smss this week. The CSRC is busy trying to ensure that the NWU Bursary should respond to students as soon as possible. The NRF Bursary will only be available in February, we urge all post grad students to apply.
