NYC is comprised of 5 boroughs, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. Before 1898, all five boroughs were individual cities. The current population of NYC is 8.4 million making it the second most populated city in North America. Manhattan and Staten Island are both completely surrounded by water and are only accessible by bridges (The famous Brooklyn bridge is one of 3 bridges) subway, or underground tunnel. Manhattan is mainly commercial and is the one that millions of people visit each year with literally a million tourist things to do (why its called the city that never sleeps!). The richest of the rich own a zip code in Manhattan...Beyonce/JayZ, Rihanna, Donald Trump, Yoko Ono and on and on!
