Yuri: When after a long, chaotic day, I lay on my bed and listen to music I like. I also like the few minutes when I wake up not because of an alarm but because of the natural sunlight, and I drink coffee. Q: What have you heard recently that made you feel the best? Yuri: There’s someone who’s been at my company for about 14 years. I coincidentally got to hear them talking about me. They said that Yuri has good sensibility and her deep eyes make her look mature. It really made me feel good. Am I bragging too much? Q: When you feel lonely, what do you do? Yuri: These days, I listen to a lot of music by 40. Even if it sometimes makes me cry. It’s not tears of sadness. Something about it cheers me up. I listen to ’Counting Stars’, ‘Soul’, ‘Pretty’ a lot. On nights I can’t sleep, I go in search for a lot of Noh Heekyung’s stuff. I really think Noh Heekyung has the power to cure lonely people. There’s some kind of unexplainable thing about him that makes me feel warm. Q: An era in the past that you liked the most? Yuri: If I could experience any era from the past, I want to live in the extravagant 1920s that appear in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novels. I feel like that time period would have had a lot of delicate women like Daisy from “The Great Gatsby”. Q: If actress Yuri could also go back and choose a director, genre, and character, what would she pick? Yuri: There are so many. Since you said I can pick whatever I want, I’ll talk about them all. I want to shoot with Choi Donghoon and his movies like “The Theives” and “Tazza”. I also want to shoot an emotional movie like “The Classic”. Out of dramas, I’m such a fan of In Jung-ok’s dramas, starting from “Ruler of Your Own World”, that I’ve seen every single of his dramas. If I could work with director Lee Yoonjung or director Pyo Minsoo, I’d be really happy. Q: If you were given a month of personal time, how would you spend it? Yuri: First, I’d go to Prague and fully enjoy the country. Then I want to head over to Rome and see every little corner. I think a good end to the vacation would be Miami. As soon as I wake up, I’d go surfing, tanning, and drinking. Doing all that while listening to music, it’d be heaven. Q: What’s the most memorable dream you’ve had this year? Yuri: A huge pig ran into my house. It seemed so pitiful so we fed it and took care of it. But that pig became so big that it became the size of our house’s living room. In the dream, I was pacing trying to figure out what to do. Doesn’t this dream mean that something daebak is going to happen? Should I buy a lottery ticket?* Q: How do you want to spend this Christmas? Yuri: I want to feel what it’s like to spend Christmas in New York. But I think it’d be a happy Christmas if I could just drink wine with the people I like. *In Korean culture, pig dreams represent wealth and well-being. Yeay!
