NYPD was protesting with a work stoppage. They said they would only arrest people who had to be arrested. Arrests went down 66% and traffic violations went down 94%. And yet the city has been fine. Sucks when you stop doing your job and then everybodys like, Oh, thats great. Lets have that ALL the time. Really, we need to spread this idea. Lets have people stop their jobs and well see if we like it better. Lets get rid of lobbyists just for a week and see how things go. Lets do away with meter maids and drone pilots, hedge fund managers, paparazzi, marketing agents, Kathy Lee Gifford, and investment bankers. Then well see whether the world runs fine or whether were like, NO! Whos gonna trick us into sub-prime variable-rate mortgages and then steal our houses from us?! Bring back the bankers!! Im not saying get rid of cops. But perhaps arresting people only when they have to be arrested, is a better plan, and the NYPD just accidentally proved it to the nation.
