NYRRSC READY TO BACK TALENTED RACERS IN 2014 The North Yorkshire Road Racing Supporters Club, which has sponsored local motorcycle road racers for over 25 years, is launching a search for keen and talented riders who deserve their backing in 2014. The Club meets on a monthly basis in Northallerton and hosts chat shows with racing celebrities, with all the proceeds going towards helping local racers. The most recent event featured the British and World Champion twins Alex and Sam Lowes, together with World Superbike contender Leon Haslam. Previous guests have included World Champions Casey Stoner, Carl Fogarty, Marco Melandri, Carlos Checa, Neil Hodgson and James Toseland. The Club is looking to help ambitious, professionally minded racers, said Chairman, Mark Green. There will be financial help, of course, but it is about more than that. There will be advice available from experienced people such as Chris Herring (who deals with the media and management side of the sport) and Mike Edwards (one of Britains most experienced racers and an ACU approved coach.) The fact that our sponsored riders are interviewed on stage in front of an audience helps them learn how to deal with the press and TV side of the sport. Applications for sponsorship are invited, during February and March, from candidates who live within 50 miles of Northallerton. All applications must include a professional portfolio, outlining the candidates racing plans for the 2014 season. We already back some really good racers, such as 2013 Triumph Triple Challenge Champion, Chrissy Rouse, but we know there are many more talented racers out there in North Yorkshire and we cant wait to meet them, commented the Clubs resident interviewer Norman Bradley.
