NZ Steel - Engineering scholarship now OPEN for 2014, see below - The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support students in the Franklin area wishing to pursue careers in engineering & science (excluding medical) > The Scholarship will be awarded annually to a first year undergraduate student. It will be awarded for a period of up to 4 years subject to annual review of performance. The value of the scholarship will be $3,000 per annum scholarship payment, plus up to 3 months paid vacation work (value $10,000). The scholarship holder will be expected to undertake paid work at New Zealand Steel during each summer vacation whilst they hold the scholarship. > The Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate candidate whose permanent address is in the Franklin County, and who is enrolled or who expects to enrol full-time in a Science or Engineering undergraduate course at a New Zealand University. Children of current New Zealand Steel employees are eligible to apply. > The basis of selection will be academic merit and wider contribution to student, community or other New Zealand activities.
