Nadi pulls out of Ba youth tourney NADI has pulled out from the Skipper Tuna Youth championship to be staged at Bas Govind Park on Sunday. Nadi FC CEO Salen Kumar said a low turnout during training was the main reason for the team to withdraw its spot in the tournament. He said the players needed 18 players unfortunately only three to four players turned out during training. Most of the players are students and they had gone for holidays in other parts of the country, said Kumar. Despite numerous calls we managed to get only three to four players during training —— therefore we have no other option but to withdraw from the competition. With Nadi out, the battle will be between Ba and Rewa. Fiji FA competition manager Amitesh Pal said Rewa and Ba have qualified after winning their respective zones. The youth league was played throughout the year with western teams Nadroga, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba played against each other on a home and away basis —— similar format was used in the South. We invited Nadi youth to participate as the best runner-up from the West to make the finals more interesting but Nadi opted to stay out, said Pal. The final will be held at 3pm. Source:fijitimes
