Nadir Kheir Nadir Kheir was born in Al Gedarif in Sudan, and went to secondary school in Khartoum South and Khartoum al Gadeema. He received his Bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Cairo University in 1982 and was awarded postgraduate diploma in clinical Pharmacy from Otago University in New Zealand where he immigrated in 1996. He received his PhD from the same university in May 2003. Nadir Kheir holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Lectureship with the School of Pharmacy, University of Auckland. He is also a Fellow with New Zealand College of Pharmacists, member of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, the Clinical Advisory Pharmacists Association, and New Zealand’s Healthcare Pharmacists’ Association. While in New Zealand, he functioned as Pharmaceutical Care Consultant and clinical pharmacy consultant. Dr. Kheir’s research interests are in the areas of health outcomes, ethics and professionalism in pharmacy practice and the application and evaluation of Pharmaceutical Care practices. His professional and academic career included his posts of Superintendent of Pharmacy Department; the Royal Hospital (Oman), Senior Pharmacist, Medical Services Department, Qatar Petroleum (Qatar), an adjunct appointment as clinical pharmacy consultant at Middlemore hospital (New Zealand), Teaching Assistant at Otago University, and Limited Term Tutor with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Auckland. He was appointed as lecturer with the School of Pharmacy at the University of Auckland (New Zealand), where he was among the foundation team of the School. Dr. Kheir is an Associate Professor, was Founding Chair of Clinical Pharmacy and Practice at the College of Pharmacy, and currently the Coordinator of the Continuing Professional Pharmacy Development (CPPD) College of Pharmacy, Qatar University. Under his leadership, the CPPD Program achieved national and international accreditation, and lately was the Outstanding Educational Award in UAE. Dr. Kheir contributes in major way in advancing the profession of pharmacy in the Middle Eastern and Arab region. He conducted workshops in UAE, Sudan, Oman, Brazil, and Europe. He published widely in international scientific journals and is considered expert in pharmaceutical care and pharmacy practice, academia and research.
