ROBBERS CAUGHT ON CCTV; NABBED BY CIDG In less than a week of extensive probe on the identification and whereabouts of the robbers/snatchers that were caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) in Quezon City, the detectives of NCRCIDU-CIDG, Intelligence Division-CIDG, and Rizal RCIDU-CIDG, led by PSUPT Agosto P Daskeo arrested 2 suspects in No. 357, Purok Silangan, Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City over the weekend. In a written report submitted to Police Director Benjamin B. Magalong by PSUPT Danilo Macerin, NCRCIDU OIC, the suspects were identified asJOHN RALFH DE GUZMAN Y CUARESMA and GILBERT PAZCOGUIN Y LANSANG, and in the course of the police operation, the detectives confiscated a Suzuki motorcycle bearing a plate number ZM 4752 used in the commission of the crime. Magalong said that lastSeptember 22, 2014, the suspects were caught on CCTV snatching the Apple I Phone 4S cellphone of a Grade 9 student of Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral School in Quezon City who was having a conversation with her 3 friends along Scout Lozano near corner Scout Tobias, Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City. Magalong also said the footage showed the backrider getting off the motorcycle and walking toward the four students- then snatching the mobile phone from one of them using force and intimidation and almost pinning down the victim. Afterwards, the malefactor ran toward his waiting companion. CIDG took the initiative to go after the culprits after the incident was shown on TV. The 2 suspects were charged for violation of Article 293 (Robbery) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to RA 7610 (Child Abuse Law).xxx
