Najeeb Jung Najeeb Bhai, I believe in equity, equilibrium, even-handedness. Perhaps because I was born right in Connaught Place, New Delhi, I have been madly in love with this metropolis and keenly follow every shade and nuance of its historical / political progress. You were abruptly brought into the brutally hostile atmosphere of vitriolic political upheaval to cope with, or at least quell, the extraordinary chaos that prevailed at that time.Your uprightness, equanimity, open-mindedness and impartiality prevailed over the maelstrom and inspired the viciously contending parties to act and interact with a fair modicum of restraint. Any alternate system of handling may have generated unrest, upheaval and violence. Yet, regardless of situational exigencies, you saw to it that Delhi’s Government functioned efficiently in relatively quiet, composed and dignified manner. It is this aspect that the BJP Government, which I and my many friends canvassed for, voted for, and staunchly support, will keep in mind as a dominant consideration if ever there are to be any deliberations on the subject of your position as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. As I have said before, and do repeat, many of us will be severely disappointed if an adverse decision is taken on this issue, since continuity of a mature administration is the need of the hour at this precarious and delicate stage. There is a time to be silent, and a time to speak. This is the time to speak and to be heard.
