Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Susan Kihika says the working relations between her office and that of the Governor Kinuthia Mbugua are excellent. Speaking at the Christian Outreach Ministry’s in Kiugo area of Kabatini ward near Maili Sita trading centre in Bahati constituency, Nakuru, during an MCAs thanksgiving prayers, Ms Kihika said: We are working very well with His Excellency the Governor who is our president. All that you hear about trouble amongst us are just petty politics, said the US educated Kihika, a lawyer by profession. Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri supported the Speaker in his speech when he said Governor Kinuthia is a lovable, humble and down-to-earth person. I want to confirm to you as my people that making appointments to his office is the prerogative and duty of the Governor. He has made his choices and let nobody interfere with it save for the people with the constitutional mandate to do so who are the MCAs led by the Speaker who is a daughter of this area. Ngunjiri accused Nakuru journalists of creating the impression that there is a protest over governor Kinuthias latest appointees. He told the congregation: When the media owners employ their staff who interferes with them..Nobody so nobody should interfere with the Governor’s appointees. He said there is no need for anyone to hide behind the veil of press freedom arguing that if one wanted the appointees revoked they should first quit, campaign, get elected and then oppose whoever they dislike in the Nakuru County Government. Our County is very sensitive politically and this petty politics must end if the county is to move forward. Have you seen anyone opposing Governors appointees in Kisumu and Kericho on grounds of lack of ethnic balance?, posed Ngunjiri. He said Kinuthia enjoys the mandate of the people and is in office by right. He asked: Ndio akuwe Gavana alipitia kwa mlango ya mbele ama ya nyuma, si alipitia ya katikati. Basi huyu ni baba kamili wa kaunti hii yetu. Other MCAs who attended the occasion to celebrate the election of Kabatini Ward MCA Paul Thuo were Arch Stephen W. Kihara of Dundori (Bahati), Leah Jepkoech Serem of Keringet (Kuresoi South), Joseph Mwangi Waithaka of Kabazi (Subukia), Simon Wanyoike Ngigi alias Wanango of Lake View Naivasha, Joseph Korir Langat of Kapkures (Nakuru Town West), Peter Njoroge Muchiri alias Mwanjo of Subukia, Samuel Kamau of Kiamaina (Bahati), Emma Wambui Mbugua (nominated Bahati) Catherine Njeri Waweru (nominated Nakuru Town East) and Joshua Mureithi (nominated PWD).
