Nala was in for intense reactivity, to other dogs and to any unfamiliar sights and sounds. During her first two weeks we were stuck inside with the rainy weather but worked a lot on impulse control. The first sunny day -- happened to be a Sunday ;-) -- we took her new skills to the streets of Los Gatos where there are always dogs out and about to see how shed react. Compared to her pre-training outbursts, we saw a much milder reaction that we can attribute to her new impulse control coupled with a handler she trusts. A quick No brought down her over excitement at seeing other dogs. After exposing her to more dogs on Monday and making sure she knew what behavior was appropriate, on Tuesday we saw a much calmer Nala around other dogs.
