Name: Lyth UWP: SGG Planet Type: Gas Giant Orbital Position: 6 Distance from Primary: 15 AU Diameter: 44,000 km Atmosphere: Hydrogen, Helium, traces of Methane Surface Gravity: 1.8 G Resources: N/A Moons: 8 Facilities/Settlements: Automated monitoring station on inner moon, Libertine station in far orbit. Discharge Altitude/FTL Wall: xxx km Lyths radiation belts are only about one-tenth as strong as currently accepted theory allows. Research is ongoing as to the reason behind the anomaly; an automated station has been set up on the inner moon for this purpose. It is visited periodically by researchers to calibrate instruments and collect readings. So far, their studies indicate Lyths core is unusually lacking in metallic content. This condition, combined with a slow rotation (about 28.5 hours), seems to be the principle cause for its modest radiation belts. Plans are underway to drop a probe into the atmosphere sometime in the next 6-12 months. For ships passing through the Kimanjano system, Lyth is the discharge point of choice. A small Libertine station, Aerie Station, has been set up in a far orbit around Lyth, and uses solar panels to heat and process ice from Lyth’s faint ring to produce fuel. The station offers little in the way of amenities, and lacks any spin gravity facilities. There is a small bar, a 20-bed hotel, and a dollhouse. Some supplies can be purchased, but availability is poor, and prices are high.
