Motto: Take a risk, experiment and take sacrifice. Experience is the best teacher. Story of my life: My life swings on different direction with uncertainty. I never imagine nor anticipate lll acquired this well-develop talent that neither myself couldnt believe that Ill excel drastically on colored pencil rendering. Before during my childhood days, my parents discovered I have potentials on drawing. Ive made sketches that resembles a typical imagination that runs through on a childs mind. Robots, factories with robotic stuffs, anime, landscapes, alies (what i mean is portrait of someone turned into a nightmare. haha). Back then, Im convinced Ill going to take up a course which fuels my desire to draw and develop it further. I came from a private school here in our hometown during my highschool days. Ive joined poster making and mural painting contest in or out of our school. Luckily one time, I represented our school to a prestigious art-contest lead by the Dept. of Ombudsman. It was my first time to compete with different individuals who are really professionals in terms of art, and it was an open competition. Parang isang langaw inilaban sa isang kalabaw. As expected, we didnt won any prize. But for me, it was eveything. The priceless experience that turns my fear into a belief that one day, Ill acquired the same hands just like them. As i graduated highschool, I was supposed to take Civil Engineering in the first place with the same school, then proceed to Fine Arts just as I planned. They offered me a scholarship. But what sadden me was that, something stuck on to my head.. taking Civil Engineering and Fine Arts will took me a long time to earn for a living. Since Im the eldest and having five brothers, I need to pursue on something which immediatelly support the financial aspect and needs of my family. So I decided to take BSMT as a solution, sacrificing my dream and interest, and following the footsteps of my father. Later, I was accepted to become a part of program named Norwegian Shipowners Association Philippine Cadet Project founded by different Norwegian Shipowners and companies. I undergo a regimented training for 4 years in our academy. Having a background about sketching and drawing, my dorm master together with my batch entrusted on doing some of our team logo and batch logos, technical props in some of the competetions we attended. With my dedication and determination, all of my sacrifices was paid off as I was being rewarded with an academic distinction as Cum Laude during our graduation last 2011. Later on, Ive passed the Licensure Examination of Officer-in-charge for Navigational Watch last 2012. I was onboard on my last vessel when my interest on drawing rekindles as Ive discovered this known artgroup Art Dreamers. Then later, I was facinated on doodle art and Ive joined Doodle Art Enthusiast. After a month, Ive discovered Guhit Pinas. With majestic and superfluous artwork being posted, my heart raged to attained those extra-ordinary talent and superiority on using graphite or colored pencil. Cropped with limitation, only a mechanical 2B pencil and 12pcs Faber Castell colored pencils was my only weapon on my hand. But Ive tried to use most out of it. Its been a year since i joined our group, Guhit Pinas. Most well-known artist, and I know you know them well too, are the apple of my eyes due to their jaw-dropping artworks like Graphite/Colored Pencil Artist Joel Colo, Charcoal Artist Rodel Rosario, 8B Master Rodman Papros, Veteran Artist Benjie Lapaña. They my first IDOL and I admire their artwork so much, and no need for me to explain there expertice. I was observing their artwork time by time. Then Ive tried and decided to mimic their styles. I dont know but somehow I did it surprisingly! My first grandslam artwork (for the first time Ive hit many likes) was my One Piece fan-art. My jar of fullfilment was overfilled with overwhelming compliments as I received positive comments. But my hands was not satisfy upon using graphite pencil only. So Ive decided to try another medium. My way of evolution on curiosity ended up on using colored pencil. My first successful colored pencil artwork was my Frozen fan-art which Ive titled it Burn. It hit more than 1k likes. Then my 2nd creation was the Dota 2 fan-art with the hottest female heroes of radiant team. GP-Davao, as I consider you all as one of my family, made my stay here worth while. Everytime Ill open my facebook, most of the notifications came most of you guys. The laughters, funny chit-chats, and all of the bully was one of the happiest moment Ill treasure when Ill go back onboard. haha. Let me thank you all for the opportunity for letting me guide you and be part of your inspiration, not only as acting as one of the admins, but as well as being your co-artist. But let me end this story quickly. haha. And before anything else, ponder on this saying: Working hard beats great talent, when great talent failed to work hard. And try to understand the difference between Talent and Skill. Im not gifted with such a wonderful talent on drawing, but my hardwork, sacrifice, passion and eagerness to learn was my foundation that best define my skills and abilities I have attained this time being. Dont stop dreaming and believing.. God give us eyes, hands an mind to comprehend on things around us. Take them as an instrument. One day, youll attain and received the same price Ive worked hard for so long. God Bless Guhit Pinas, and GP-Davao! To God Be The Glory!
