Nanaimo Beading Circle First Gathering, Wednesday, September 18, 6:00, Mid Island Metis Association, 285 Prideaux Street This project has developed from the Walking With Our Sisters collaboration between the Women’s Centre, Mid Island Metis Association and Nanaimo Arts Council. Approximately 30 people participated and we contributed 23 pairs of beaded moccasin tops to the national exhibit. We enjoyed the process so much we decided to continue this fall. Bring your current project to work on while we talk about what we want to do. Whether we want to choose a project to all work on – we had talked about making moccasins – or work on individual projects. Meeting frequency, day, time etc. Do we want to get people in to do workshops? Who will mentor us? Do we want to rotate responsibility for goodies or just take our chances. Those sorts of things. Heck, we could even talk about our name. Please pass this on to anyone you think might want to be involved. If you could rsvp just to give us an idea of how many to expect that would be great. If you can’t make this gathering but want to participate, please let me know.
