Nancy Janes Together we stand! Dog situation in Romania: Nationwide coordination of neutering campaigns Mass killing of stray dogs in Romania is now legal: After a waiting period of fourteen days, captured street dogs can now be killed legally. And this is what is going to happen to thousands of dogs in many Romanian cities and villages. This means for us to continue our work in Romania and to pursue a rational concept: We now have to list cities and villages in Romania that agree on a no-kill-policy and that are willing to accept the humane and long-ranging solution of mass neutering instead. Those cities and villages will get the support of local and international animal wellfare organisations by realizing neutering campaigns. There will be talks with the mayors of the cities that plan on performing mass destructions of stray dogs. Together with local animal welfare organisations the Susy Utzinger Animal Protection Trust is currently collecting data from all over the country. All NGOs that are currently active in Romania are asked to forward their information about the current status of their negotiations with the mayor of their city and the current status of their neutering campaigns to the following central collection point: dogssalvationplan@gmail
