Nancy L. Zingrone, PhDwrote: Dear Folks: I just wanted to write and tell you guys about our free online 6-week course, Parapsychology and Anomalistic Psychology: Research and Education. We will have 22 guest speakers about 4-8 additional presentations by us, most of them about how to get a certificate and so on, so student housekeeping plus an overview lecture, and we hope some student discussions. The point was to get as many new people exposed to the real science behind the field. If everything goes okay, we hope to do one of these every year to showcase scientists, scholars, researchers, educational programs and research units as well as graduate students who are coming up. Today we got word that Lisette Coly and the Parapsychology Foundation will be partnering up with us to offer the certificates of completion as well. Some donations have already come in to help underwrite our labor on the course, from our friends and collaborators in Alvarado, Zingrone & Associates, Natasha and Jonathan Chides of Chizfilm.net and from Phil Morse, a former Board member of the Rhine, who has partnered with Carlos in the CompellingEvidenceoftheAfterlife, a project that feeds into their book project. The MOOC will start (MOOC = massively open online courses although we are only approved for up to just under 2000 registrants, so were sort of a mini-Mooc) January 5th, 2015 with an opening session from us, and our already confirmed speakers (some scheduled, some still working on dates/times/titles) are Dean Radin, Antonia Mills, Chris Roe, Everton Maraldi, Steven Braude, Christopher Laursen, Bryan Williams, Kathy Dalton, Wellington Zangari, Fatima Machado, Cherylee Black, Joe McMoneagle, Alexander Moreira-Almeida and Alejandro Parra. So far weve only had one no for reasons of being really busy over the duration of the course when ends on Saturday, February 14th. Each talk will be around 60 minutes with Q & A, will be recorded and downloadable (so you dont have to attend in real time), plus I will be giving the speakers MP4s of their talk and uploading the talks to our Parapsychology Online YouTube channel a week or so after they are given. The course itself will be open as long as we have accounts on WizIQ, our social media teaching platform, so we hope for many years to come. The course will also include a dozen or so Poster Presentations (stand-alone PowerPoints) as well as some readings and YouTube videos relevant to the course. Students will be able to get certificate of completion through a number of options.
