Naomi Klein, ive worked with, in protests for yrs, made the case well, last night, with Bill Maher, how the Liberal Dem approach to Climate Change, that working people do all the sacrificing by spending less, less light bulbs & driving Priuses, not only is inadequate, its a totally wrong approach + unfair to underclassers, across the planet, both 1st & 3rd Worlders, who already sacrifice too much! Also, Climate Change is yet another necessary issue which has RW Free Market Capitalist fundies standing in the way of technological progress. This is why i ignore the usual Climate Change discussions & wont discuss it very much. Its a subject usually dominated by either Beltway moderate Democrats pushing an incremental tinkering OR Fringe Rightwing lunatic Climate Science-deniers Flat-earther arguments or conspiracy theories. Instead of an opportunity to modernize technology, international infrastructure & innovative technology to save on transportation, like for instance, more sophisticated interconnected underground, underwater & above ground railway networks, across cities, countries & national borders, connecting larger cities to isolated suburban & rural regions. So people can ride the rail or subway comfortably --- instead of needing to ride cars so much? Why dont we make WASP millionaires & billionaires sacrifice 3 vacations in a new yacht, to Napoli, Italy, a year, instead of the usual 14? Also - less blacktie banquets by top personal chefs, every week & less private jet flights to the Bahamas?
