Narcotics Detectives Discover New Type of Meth on Island, Searching For Dealer (Galveston, TX) January 15th , 2014 – On Wednesday afternoon, January 14th 2015, the Galveston Police Vice and Narcotics Division executed an arrest warrant in the 1300 block of 55th St issued for 24-year-old Justin Boss. Boss was not only wanted for the offense of Terroristic Threat stemming from a recent incident here in Galveston, but also had what is commonly referred to as a “Blue Warrant”, which is an order from the court to arrest the subject for violation of their parole or probation. Violators with a “Blue Warrant” will be returned to jail or prison to serve the remainder of their time on probation or parole as an inmate. The Galveston Police Vice and Narcotics Division learned of the whereabouts of Boss during an undercover investigation that also revealed Boss was selling methamphetamine. During the execution of the warrant, Justin Boss, who was hiding just outside the residence, was able to evade detectives due to the limited number of narcotics officers that were available to execute the warrant. After entering the residence, detectives discovered several other subjects on location including: 22-year-old April Hebert, 29-year-old Joshua Ontiveros, and 24-year-old Alan Bennecke. Detectives also found 3.73 grams of Methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of Heroin, 12.8 grams of Marijuana, 26.10 grams of Dilaudid, and 5.45 grams of Lorazepam. Statements made to police from the other occupants indicated that Boss fled with over an ounce of Methamphetamine from the residence when he evaded police during the warrant execution. Most notably, detectives discovered that the located Meth was a bright orange color. Generally meth is a white or off white color; however, manufacturers are now adding other chemicals, like cough syrups, to their meth in an effort to alter its effects on the body. Narcotics detectives have learned of this new trend but had not seen it appear in Galveston until this particular seizure. All the aforementioned subjects on location were charged with the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, Greater than 1 gram but less than 4 grams. This offense carries of possible punishment of 2 to 10 years imprisonment and up to a $10,000 fine. Police are still searching for Justin Boss for his originally issued warrants as well as a newly issued warrant for the offense of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a third degree felony. This warrant is carrying an $80,000 bond. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Justin Boss they are asked to contact the Galveston Police Vice and Narcotics Division at 409-765-3670.
