Narendra Modis invitation to SAARC leaders on his oath taking ceremony signals the start of new chapter of relation between India and its neighbours.the media is interpreting it in political terms and a good gesture and the first in indian history that a PM designate has shown.i see it in different perspective.i suppose narendra Modi sees a decisive leadership and role for India in the South Asia.he might be willing to make SAARC countries a business hub on the pattern of European union(EU).Eu member states have common currency.this is something that late Benazir Bhutto had desired in one of her press meet.narendra Modi had in one of his election speeches said he will set foreign policy on the basis of trade.on the basis of this he may ask Neighbouring countries to cooperate in trade fr mutual good.he may offer them doing business together will poverty, unemployment, terrorism etc.he may appeal to terrorists to leave the terrorism. All this will be heartily accepted by the citizens of these countries and the govt.A SAARC club will be the powerful business club than the EU.just imagine the integration of market of ind, pak,Lanka,Nepal,Bhutan, afghan,Bangladesh.now his popularity is going to transcend in other countries as well.he is going to become the darling of masses in other countries.in this way he looks forward to position India as world power...
