Narrative story telling uses various elements : cinematography, production design , costume, make up , special effects. However all these elements are a part of the film making system. They are there to support, enhance and clarify the telling of the story. But they would be useless without the primary element of narrative story -telling : The characters . It is through the characters that the viewing audience gets drawn into the story and is able to take the ride.
