Nashville is a city where new music is constantly being created, and as Music City’s resident orchestra, the Nashville Symphony is committed to keeping classical music fresh and relevant. We commission new works because we believe that orchestras have as much to say in the 21st century as they did three centuries ago. Musical styles may have changed, but one thing remains constant: the ability of music to inspire, motivate, heal and transform individual lives and entire communities. This weekend, we are hugely excited to perform the world premiere of Conni Ellisor and Victor Wooten’s The Bass Whisperer.
