Nasir wins it for Abahani An all round performance by Nasir Hossain helped Abahani Limited to defeat Brothers Union by 69 runs in Fatullah. After scoring 26 runs, he took 3 wickets in 8 tight overs where he only conceded 15 runs, getting the man of the match award in the process. This performance might increase his chances of making it to the final 15 who will travel to Australia for the world cup, particularly with the form he is in the Dhaka Premier league. The win took Abahani Limited to second place in the points table in the Dhaka Premier league with 14 points from 9 games, 2 behind leaders Prime Bank. Due to fog, the match was reduced to 42 overs a side. Abahani scored 191 for 9. After a good opening stand of 84 between Litton Das (40) and Abdul Mazid (37) Abahani’s innings was boosted by late cameos from Saqlain Shojib and Nazmul Apu. In reply Brothers lost wickets at regular intervals. The top scorer was Abhishek Mitra with 25 followed by Asif Hasan who scored 21. Apart from Nasir, Nazmul Apu and Saqlain took two wickeys apiece.
