Nat Russo said and it makes sense: If your story or characters require you to write outside your comfort zone, its important that you commit to the process. Embrace it. Make it your own. Dont write as if your friends, spouse, loved ones, parents, neighbors, or preachers are looking over your shoulder. Until you write as if no one is reading, youll always hesitate. Youll pull back at the moment you should be pushing forward. Youll be too caught up in what other people may think to really write your story and do your characters justice. Imagine how amazing you can be, and dare to make it happen.
