Natalie KingMid Cotswold Tracks & Trails Group 9 hrs · Hi, is there anything that can be done to small motorway bridges that are bridleways? The barriers are very low and its quite a narrow bridge, so youre forced to ride near the low barriers, and theyre very low when on a horse! Thanks LikeLike · Mid Cotswold Tracks & Trails Group This is a good question. I know of one in Kent that had raided sides. We previously spoke to Highways about the new slippery tarmac and immediately they agreed to use safer tarmac on rural roads, and last year we discussed cattle grid gate improvements with them and since then we have been talking to the Road Safety Partnership about several other things. We have just heard this week that two BHS Glos representatives will attend RSP meetings to represent horse riders so our voice will now be represented. I will pass this comment to Sue Russell. Do you have a particular bridge in mind ? Is there one that would make a difference to the safety of a route you wish to use? Commented on by Pat Harris · 21 mins · Like
