Natalie Marie Holmgren aked, I know some homeschool families have commented about using Settlers of Catan board game for reasoning skills, decision making, interacting, etc. For those of you with the core game, how do the extensions work? Do you have to have the extension for the core game first before adding the other optional extensions the Knights & Barbarians....) or can you use those optional extensions just with the core game alone? Does the railway version need the core game, or is it only a game in itself? I have tried to look up some online links, but its confusing. I just need a Catan for Dummiess run-down, please? They are also hard to find in stores. I did find the core game in Target ,but no extensions. I like to handle & look at a product many times before buying, so prefer stores, plus saving the postage/ handling fees....but once I understand the extensions, I know you can get them online.
