Natasha Clarke: I want more arts and artists, nice restaurants more attraction for visitors, dancers, tourists. This is my special interest. The jump start candidates already show to us the way where Vallejo will go if they will elected: Parolees Center, 2 apartments bldg. of course for low or no income at all rentals and one more office in the Waterfront. Do I want this? NO. All jump start have more then $114,000 from different Unions. What I have: first I invest all my $$ to my business, and now straggling to save my bldg. and business. Bj Conrad: Side by side I walk with this sister, Natasha. I, too, have invested my personal resources to realize the dream that the town I live in, Vallejo, will be a town with culture, arts, music, ideas and thought. Dan Robeski, bless his soul, and I dreamed of the Marin and Florida art area being signified by breathtakingly beautiful red maples shrouding the streets protectively under their russet canopy. No assistance from the City except for planting the trees, no grants, no special interests fund the endeavor. But art has taken hold here bit by bit in the face of resistance, crime and fear of change. Life breathes again on Marin Street. Smell the growth: dancing in the streets, fire breathing fatasmagorical vehicles, glittering mosaics, Illuminated fabric sculptures, Raku and other ceramicists, painters, harpists, singers, photographers slowly gaining momentum, turning the tide. With a little encouragement and support this will be the cornerstone for Vallejos Renaissance.
