National Administrator Job Location: Multiple Locations The Canadian Progress Club, is a dynamic fellowship of charitable-minded Canadians who are passionate and committed to strengthening our communities through hands-on service and fundraising. We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced individual to fill our National Administrator role. The Club was founded in Toronto in 1922, and currently has twenty nine clubs located across Canada, with approximately 550 members. Each local club conducts its own affairs and its own charitable projects, with a national administrator role supporting the clubs, our national board of directors, and the administration of our national charitable foundation. Responsibilities The successful candidate, in consultation with and upon approval of the Canadian Progress Club National (“CPCN”) and Canadian Progress Charitable Foundation (“CPCF”) Boards, will plan and manage day to day administrative operations of the CPC National Office to ensure the office operates in an effective and efficient manner. Following is a list of specified duties and responsibilities of the National Administrator; however these may change from time to time as required and requested by the CPCN and/or CPCF Boards. Specific duties will include: • Responsible for the day to day operations of the CPCN and CPCF board financial and accounting activity, including: ◦ Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable; ◦ Performing bank and credit card reconciliations; ◦ Filing required PST/HST/QST returns; ◦ Timely and accurate financial reporting; ◦ Maintenance of national CPCN and CPCF books and records; ◦ Providing assistance to Club treasurers in the production of annual budgets. • Secretariat to the CPCN and CPCF Boards which includes: ◦ Providing assistance to the National President and CPCF Chair in the management of Board meetings, and convention presentations; ◦ Recording and producing the minutes and action logs of the Board meetings and National AGM; ◦ Responsible for liaising with the National Convention Committee; ◦ Assisting with management and coordination of the annual CPCF National Convention. • Assisting with the Internal and External communication including: ◦ Providing support in the preparation and distribution of “The Progression” and “E-Bulletins” for both National and CPCF. • Responsible for administering and managing the Canadian Progress Club website • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the GiftTool fundraising software utilized by the foundation and various member clubs • Managing the National social media tools including “Facebook” and “LinkedIn” Requirements • Minimum post-secondary education in a related field, with five years experience in a similar role administrative role; • Basic understanding of accounts payable, receivable and managing finances is necessary including proficiency using Quick Books Pro; • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products; • Strong time management skills, with an ability to effectively prioritize competing demands with the flexibility to promptly and efficiently make project adjustments under minimal supervision; • Experience in event coordination; • Familiar with and comfortable using various social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn); • Certification or training in project management would be considered an asset; • Web skills such as html and graphics would be considered an asset; • Experience in a charity or not-for-profit setting would be considered an asset; • Residence in a city with a Canadian Progress Club presence would be considered an asset but not necessarily required; and. • The successful candidate must be bondable and have completed a successful background/reference and criminal check. This position will be of interest to a highly motivated, confident self-starter who thrives on organizational success and accomplishment while giving back to the community. This position is a full time role and is expected to work from a home office – so prospective candidates need to be equipped, or have the ability to be equipped to facilitate this requirement.
