National Apprenticeship Week National Apprenticeship Week is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals and businesses. Now in its seventh year, National Apprenticeship Week will take place between 3rd and 7th March 2014 and is the time when all eyes are on Apprenticeships. It’s all about raising the profile amongst employers, individuals, teachers, parents and the media. Everyone with an interest in Apprenticeships across England is encouraged to get involved in the week. The overarching theme for the t-shirt should be “Made by Apprentices”. This will be used in a wide range of ways, depending on the audience being targeted, for example: For employers: Great businesses: Made by apprentices For potential apprentices and their influencers: Great careers: Made by Apprenticeships Great opportunities: Made possible by Apprenticeships It is about demonstrating how Apprenticeships can deliver for both employers and individuals whilst showcasing the quality of apprentices and the huge contribution they make to their employer’s success. We want to show how apprentices develop as individuals and how proud the country’s employers are of their apprentices. For more information visit apprenticeships.gov.uk The Brief You are asked to create a design that can be printed onto a promotional NAS t-shirt. The t-shirt will be promoted in the lead up to National Apprenticeship Week with the intention of apprentices in different jobs around England wearing it throughout the week. As the t-shirt is to promote the Week, the words ‘National Apprenticeship Week’ should be included. It would be beneficial if the theme ‘Made by apprentices’ was reflected in the design. The date for the Week (or 2014) should not be included. It is important to remember that the National Apprenticeship Service operates in England only so no references should be made to ‘Great Britain’ or national flags. The National Apprenticeship Service will be supporting this competition with a PR campaign and the designers and winners are expected to receive some media coverage. The National Apprenticeship Service are keen for the T-Shirt to be ready to launch at The Skills Show in November. Retail Apprenticeship employers will be encouraged to display the t-shirt in their windows and ask employees to wear it during the Week. The competition will be run in partnership with Creative Skillset. You may find the Brand guidelines for Apprenticeships useful to see what some of our recent work looks like.
